Wow, What a ride ! Fun is to be had in the Stanislaus. This was our second trip this year putting in at Knight's Ferry. It was much different back in March before the snow melt and water level low.
River current is running fast and high all, please be careful out there. Not many places to pull over and don't even try in the fast current. I have been going down this river for 30 years and don't remember the current this fast. A beautiful day on the river, with perfect company. The kind of day where the temptation of tranquility and beauty overcome a day full of tasks needing to be done. Stanislaus River runs mainly in the Stanislaus County and meets the San Joaquin river just beyond Caswell Park in Ripon, San Joaquin County. We made better time than I expected at this time of year.
Total Time: 3 hours, includes a couple short stops, 1:30 put in at Jacob Myers Park, Riverbank. Out 4:34 at McHenry Park in Escalon, CA |
Love to KayakBeen rafting the river since the 80's Then found Kayaking and been in love ever since. There is a quality to floating, moving and maneuvering down the beautiful river we have in, what I consider, my back yard. Serenity, Beauty, Sunshine and even times with adrenaline pumping fun ! Most of all it's an easy day of fun with friends.
Love to Kayak
