~ Lover's Leap ~
Labor Day, late afternoon, was a little eerie with no rafts around. Took some friends from out of state, excited to see our beautiful river and enjoy the river. We had a great time and a beautiful day. Even did it twice since the river flows so fast. First trip, from Horseshoe Park to Orange Blossom Bridge, then up to Knights Ferry and ended at Horseshoe Park. :) Here's to doing the possible ! Notice the trail, you can get out of the river and carry your boat, raft, kayak, child or husband to the other side :)
This is the real first curve you come to and it's a whopper ! If the river flow is high enough it's really not that bad but medium flow is a level 3 Still hard for anyone new to kayaking or balancing. So, if you are drinking, save it for after this corner. Live for the Present....... but nary forget the Past. It's coated with experience and flowing through fast. With or without shine, the wind hits my skin. A vision of beauty, we pray it won't end.. A promise of greatness, this vision we see, if only a flower that grows among the weeds. A love of surroundings, a soft rippling song. To be one with nature, I'd kayak the day long. For here there are no games, no messy little feuds, only blood rushing peace and a pirate like crew. |
Love to KayakBeen rafting the river since the 80's Then found Kayaking and been in love ever since. There is a quality to floating, moving and maneuvering down the beautiful river we have in, what I consider, my back yard. Serenity, Beauty, Sunshine and even times with adrenaline pumping fun ! Most of all it's an easy day of fun with friends.
